Free cake for the kids this afternoon as the Swindon Chidren’s Fete celebrates 151 years

Come on admit it, you came to this article as you saw free cake! It is true, this afternoon at Swindon Children’s Fete, there will be free cake on offer as the festivities open around 1230pm.

Situated at Faringdon Road Park, the team of the Mechanics Institute Trust will once again throw the party of the year in glorious sunshine, (fingers crossed) and entry as always, is free.

After an amazing turnout for last year’s 150th celebration today’s event is going to be bigger and better than ever.

Swindon’s very own Falding’s Fandangos will be providing a circus workshop in the big top before showing off their skills to the crowd. Crowdy’s School Choir and the Britannia Majorettes will also be performing through the afternoon along with many other local groups.

Festivities will be opened by the Mayor at around 1230pm and will run through to 8pm.
