Disney Frozen socks recalled amid fears they contain chemicals that cause cancer

Trading Standards are reporting that socks featuring characters from the hit Disney movie Frozen have been recalled due to fears they contain chemicals that may cause cancer.

The blue sock, sold in a pack of three, featuring Princess Anna of Arendelle may contain a restricted chemical, parnts are being warned.

The two remaining pairs of socks featuring Queen Elsa and Olaf the snowman are not believed to be affected.

The banned chemical, which breaks down into carcinogenic substances, was found in one delivery of the product by online fashion chain Lindex sparking the recall.

Anyone who has bought the socks is urged to contact Lindex for a full refund.

A spokesperson for Lindex said: “Our customers’ safety and the quality of our products are top priorities for us at Lindex and we have a major focus on this in the creation of our fashion.

We regret that these socks incorrectly have passed our security controls.”

The recall applies to socks with the index number 833 7410285 5170 1611.
