You may remember that eleven months ago I was kindly given a Theradome Laser Phototherapy helmet in the hope of restoring my thinning hair to its fullest state. Well here we are Christmas has come and gone, and so has a little more of my hair by the looks of things!
Laser hair therapy, (also known as Laser Phototherapy– LPT), is known to be the most powerful and effective treatment for hair restoration, without going under the knife that is, and last year exploded on to the market with the introduction of Theradome.
Clinical trials proved that the helmet is one of the safest and most effective hair loss solutions amongst all other medications.
The promise was that if I wear the helmet every other day for just 20 minutes each time within eight months I should see a noticeable reduction in the thinning at the rear of my head.
Now the year went by with little or no improvement, my first update came and went, the picture looked good, it looked like there was a little thickening of the hair. Deep down though I knew it wasn’t happening, each time I sat in that barbers chair the mirror behind shouted out as loud as it could BALDY!
Now if you know me you will know I am not going to give up, trials have had some good results, maybe my hair is being a little more resilient? Maybe the trial of the older gentleman who used to have thick black curly hair took eighteen months and not the eight?
Who knows, this last year the dog has looked at my funny wearing this helmet around the house, I have sat in front of the TV feeling like I belong in an episode of Mork & Mindy but, Theradome has given me hope. Hope that maybe I will not be the next Jones to have a big bald spot, hope that one day I will be able to put my hair a top knot – THAT IS A JOKE – If ever my hair grows back and I attempt it, shoot me!
Whatever happens, no treatment is guaranteed to work on everyone, I will keep trying and see if it just takes that little bit longer than clinical trials estimated.
