Swindon Borough Council Leader David Renard is linking up with experts from the transport and business world on Wednesday 23 August to see for himself the potential of hydrogen cars.
The ‘Hydrogen Hub Car Showcase’, attended by the public and businesses, is taking place in the beautiful surroundings of Lydiard Park, and will feature a variety of hydrogen vehicles on display.
Swindon Borough Council is an Executive and founder member of the Hydrogen Hub, alongside Wiltshire Council and Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership. The event is being delivered by Ecuity Consulting on behalf of the Hydrogen Hub, but the Council is acting as hosts by providing the grounds of Lydiard House for the car showcase.
The Council supported the bid to the Office for Low Emission Vehicles that local companies submitted for the funding of hydrogen cars which will be seen at the event.
Visitors will have the unique opportunity to learn about the latest cutting edge, green technology on the vehicle market.
Besides a public viewing of the cars on display, a business focused event in the morning between 10.30 and 13.30 will explore the benefits of hydrogen vehicles and funding opportunities, with the opportunity to ride in and explore the vehicles.
Members of the public will also have access to the Hydrogen Hub Car Showcase in the afternoon from 14.00 to 17.00.
