Communities Set To Benefit From Community Action Fund

Communities Set To Benefit From Community Action Fund
Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Wiltshire and Swindon Angus Macpherson is seeking applications for his new Community Action Fund.
The fund launched by the PCC at the end of June has been created to benefit local communities with £40,000 earmarked for this year to share among the chosen projects.
The Commissioner is looking to boost initiatives which will help him to meet the key priorities in his Police and Crime Plan, through projects which demonstrate one of the follow criteria:
  • An increased participation from communities who engage with, and promote community safety, helping to keep their community safe.
  • Projects which demonstrate a reduction in rural crime in communities.

Mr Macpherson said: “Policing is the responsibility of the whole community and I am delighted that I am able to support the communities of Wiltshire and Swindon to help keep themselves safe.

“I would like to remind community groups, voluntary sector organisations and Town and Parish councils that my Community Action Fund is open for applications.

“I am looking to support projects that will help me to meet the objectives in the Police and Crime Plan, and will make a difference locally in our towns, cities or more rural areas of the county.”

“I am looking forward to receiving applications and reading about these exciting projects”

The closing date for the PCC’s Community Action fund is Friday 11 August.
