Aldi is recalling one of its bottled beer, the Brasserie Gluten Free Organic Pale Ale as a safety measure due to it containing barley and fears that some customers may be allergic to it.
The supermarket has recalled the beer as there is a risk that customers with a gluten or barley intolerance may be allergic to it after it failed to declare that it contains “deglutenised barley” on the label.
Barley contains gluten so those with allergies or intolerance should avoid the grain.
Customers who have bought the beer are being asked to return it to their nearest store and get a refund.
A warning posted on the bargain supermarket’s Facebook page said: “We are recalling Brasserie Gluten Free Organic Pale Ale (750ml) as a precautionary measure as the product contains barley which is not declared on the label.
“This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to barley.”
It adds: “We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation”.
